What better way to start my website journey then to do an article on my hometown team Plymouth Argyle!

The club was formed in 1886 and become professional in 1906, their first game was played the same year they were formed against a team called Caxton.

Home Park the home of Plymouth Argyle was recently refurbished in 2019, and 3 sides of the stadium were totally rebuilt in the early 2000s. It is situated in the Central Park green area of the city, near to the city centre. The Mayflower stand was designed by the famous architect Archibald Leitch, who also designed famous stadiums such as the home of Glasgow Rangers Ibrox. It has hosted famous teams such as the Brazilian team Santos, in the 70s when Argyle hosted them, and included the famous Pele! Manchester United played there as a neutral ground in the 1970s, playing French side St Etiene.

Plymouth Argyle have always played in Green, white and black colours for their home kit, and are playing at Championship level at the moment in 2025.
